As a college marketing agency, the following are the common ways of guerrilla marketing that they might use in promoting certain brands:
Posters
Budget is a big thing in any form of college marketing strategy. Start first by printing some flyers of about 8.5” x 11” in budget printer and have a solutions partner get them posted in high traffic areas on campus. The brand ambassadors will know where to post these boards in prime spots to attract the most engagement.
Handouts
Ambassador engagement in campus marketing does not necessarily mean to have the bells and whistles with the branded tents, free swag giveaways such as t-shirts or need to be aligned with some or the other solutions partner; instead, a simple network of students running and handing out collateral at an economical cost can be equally effective should the content is in place.
Dorm Room Marketing
One of the most effective ways of the brands to reach students is get into their dorms. Brands can arrange for printing and designing an actual door hanger, get the prints of 4” x 6” postcards or train some of the students to make the news reach the dorms and deliver the message.
Guerrilla marketing (street teams), when one done aptly can engage the target demo immediately. With the product sample, custom flyer, or coupons, it is one of the most direct and effective ways to introduce the product or service to the students. Dynamic atmosphere, young and open-minded people, and the ease of dissemination of information make college marketing one of the primary ways for the brands to market themselves.
